“All the world’s futures” è il titolo della 56° Esposizione Internazionale d’Arte di Venezia che quest’anno ha preso il via il 9 maggio. Le location saranno come di consueto i Giardini, l’Arsenale e numerose sedi nella città di Venezia che ospiteranno le opere e le proposte di 89 paesi tra cui naturalmente l’Italia.
Fin dalla sua fondazione nel 1895, la Biennale è una tra le più antiche, importanti e prestigiose rassegne internazionali d’arte contemporanea al mondo nata al fine di stimolare l’attività artistica e il mercato dell’arte nella città di Venezia.
Dopo 120 anni, l’edizione di quest’anno è diretta dal nigeriano Okwui Enwezor, da sempre attento alle connessioni tra linguaggi d’arte, tematiche storiche, etniche e sociali.
Il tema di quest’anno, “Tutti i futuri del mondo” è estremamente attuale e offre numerosi spunti su cui riflettere su cosa riserva il futuro all’umanità.
La risposta della biennale non si può definire rassicurante, difatti la sensazione generale che emerge dalle opere esposte è quella di un futuro incerto, malinconico e a tratti cupo.
Il filo rosso che collega tutte le opere comunica un’idea di fine, quasi di estrema unzione per un mondo ormai esausto e letteralmente distrutto dall’uomo.
Il tema “All the world’s futures” è saldamente radicato tra i solchi ed i relitti di un paesaggio devastato.
La Biennale di Venezia è ancora una volta un’importante occasione per portare sotto i riflettori l’arte contemporanea, talvolta criticata ma pur sempre strumento per cogliere l’orrore e la bellezza di un mondo costellato già di macerie.

world’s futures” is the title of the 56th international art exhibition of
Venice that this year started the 9th may. The locations, as usual, are the
Gardens, the Arsenal, and many other places in the city of Venice that will
host the works and the proposals of 89 countries, including of course Italy.
Since its
foundation in 1895, the Biennale is one of the oldest, most important and
prestigious international exhibitions of contemporary art in the world, created
to stimulate the artistic activity and the art market in Venice.
After 120
years, this year’s edition is directed by the Nigerian Okwui Enwezor, always
attentive to the connections between the languages of art, historical, ethnic
and social themes.
This year’s
theme, “all the world’s futures” can be considered a very actual topic, as it
offers numerous ideas in order to think about what the future holds for
humanity.
The
biennale’s answer cannot be defined reassuring, in fact the general feeling
that emerges from the works is uncertainty, melancholy, showing us a gloomy
future. The common thread that connects all the works communicates an idea of
order, almost an extreme unction to a world now exhausted and
literally destroyed by the human kind.
The theme “
All the world’s futures “ is firmly rooted in the grooves and the wreckages of
a devastated landscape.
The Venice
Biennale is once again an important opportunity to bring the spotlight on
contemporary art, sometimes criticized but still considered a way to catch the
horror and the beauty of a world already dotted with rubble
