Cannes: red carpet drama

Il Festival del Cinema di Cannes è un festival cinematografico annuale tenuto a Cannes, che offre nuovi film da tutto il mondo. Quest'anno ha avuto luogo dal 13 al 24 Maggio 2015. Ogni anno tonnellate di eventi hanno luogo durante il festival: feste di lancio (Il libro di Fendi di Karl Lagerfeld), serate di gala (amfAR), cene, photocall, e molti tappeti rossi. Ovviamente non starò qui ad aggiornarvi su chi ha vinto, chi ha perso e su quali film sono stati presentati, perchè sinceramente non potrebbe interessarmi di meno.

Saltiamo semplicemente alla parte che ci interessa davvero: cosa hanno indossato? 

Bene, personalmente, mi sembra come se tutti fossero stati davvero stancati dal Gala del Met. Sono stati lasciati senza nulla da indossare, probabilmente non avevano idea di cosa fare, e nessuno era lì ad aiutarli. Sembra come se tutti quei Vip si fossero svegliati ed avessero indossato un po' di Haute Couture. Tutto qua.

Beh, riempiamo di vino i nostri bicchieri e andiamo a prenderli un po' in giro:

The Cannes Film Festival is an annual film festival held in Cannes, which previews new films from all around the world. This year it took place between 13–24 May 2015. Every year tons of events take place during the film festival: launch parties (Fendi’s book by Karl Lagerfeld), galas (amfAR), dinners, photocalls, and many red carpets. I’m obviously not going to update you about who won, who lost and about which films where presented, because I sincerely couldn’t care less.

Let’s just simply skip to the part we actually care about: what did they wear?

Well, personally I feel like everyone was genuinely tired out by the Met Gala. They were left with nothing to wear, they probably had no idea what to do, and no one was there to help them. It looks like all those VIPs simply woke up and threw some Haute Couture on. And  that was it.

So let’s just fill our glasses with wine and make fun of them:

The Versace Ladies:

Here there are the Versace ladies (not even all of them). What do they have in common? They are all beautiful, thin, tall, sexy, hot models. Oh, and also your boyfriend's wet dream.

Ecco le signorine di Versace (nemmeno tutte). Cosa hanno in comune? Sono tutte bellissime, magre, alte, sexy e seducenti modelle. Oh, e anche il sogno erotico del tuo ragazzo. 

The Good Ones: 

Adriana Lima - Ulyana Sergeenko 

Dark hair, black dress, red lips, her beauty. That's what it takes to look like a femme fatale meets Bond Girl. 

Capelli scuri, abito nero, labbra rosse, e la sua bellezza. Ecco ciò che serve per sembrare una femme fatale - Bond Girl.

Cate Blanchett - Armani Privè

I must say I basically liked all her looks during Cannes, but this is simply stunning. Afterall, it's Privè.

Devo dire che mi sono piaciuti praticamente tutti i suoi look durante Cannes, ma questo è semplicemente stupendo. Dopotutto, è Privè.

Emily Blunt - Stella Mc Cartney 

Yes, I know. Just looking at her makes me hot, she looks like a mummy, A really good looking one.

Sì, lo so. Solo guardarla mi mette caldo, sembra una mummia. Una mummia molto bella, però.

Lupita Nyong'o - Gucci

When it comes to her I'm always so confused. She is an actress, and I always remember her because of her beuatiful style..can't really say the same about her films.

Quando si tratta di lei sono sempre così confuso. E' un'attrice, e me la ricordo sempre per il suo bellissimo stile...non posso dire lo stesso per i suoi film.

Julianne Moore - Armani Privè 

Surely better than the red velvet one, right Julianne?

Sicuramente migliore di quello di velluto rosso, vero Julianne? 

Zoe Kravitz - Valentino Haute Couture

I've always said that God was a woman. A black woman in bloody Valentino.

Ho sempre detto che Dio è una donna. Una donna di colore in un dannatissimo Valentino.

Miranda Kerr - Emanuel Ungaro and Giuseppe Zanotti shoes

She looks like a bubblegum. Like, literally. A bubblegum I would totally chew for hours.

Sempra una gomma da masticare. Cioè, letteralmente. Una gomma che masticherei per ore. 

Lea Seydoux - Prada

Is it even fair? Like, come on. I would look totally cool too if I were covered in Valentino.

E' giusto? Cioè, dai. Anche io sembrerei totalmente cool se fossi ricoperto di Valentino.

Sienna Miller - Lanvin

The colour reminds me of Kim Kardashian's Lavin at last year's MET Gala.

And that's probably why I love it so much.

Il colore mi ricorda il Lanvin di Kim Kardashian al MET Gala dell'anno scorso.

E probabilmente è il motivo per cui lo amo così tanto.

Diane Kruger - Prada

This, folks, is my personal favourite. I'm just loving this whole "Miuccia doing red carpet gowns" kind of thing.

Questo, gente, è il mio preferito. Sto semplicemente amando tutta questa storia di "Miuccia che fa vestiti da tappeto rosso".

That's what happens when you try to use a carpet as curtains and you later decide to wear it. Questo è ciò che succede quando decidi di usare un tappeto come tende, per poi indossarlo.

Sienna Miller - Valentino 

Sienna, my dear. Just do like a kite and fly away.

Sienna, cara. Fai come un aquilone e vola via.

Naomi Watts - Elie Saab

That's the carpet above, after I have set it on fire.

Questo è il tappeto di sopra, dopo che gli ho dato fuoco.

Michelle Rodriguez - Blumarine

This whole "Michelle trying to be super feminine" just doesn't work.

Questa "Michelle che prova ad essere super femminile" semplicemente non funziona.

Salma Hayek - Alexander Mc Queen Resort 2013

Salma, you are married to Francois-Henri Pinault, aka Kering's Boss. Who holds, Mc Queen, Balenciaga, Gucci, Bottega Veneta and many others. You could have everything custom made, but instead you chose a 2013 horrible Mc Queen. Whatever. 

Salma, sei sposata con Francois-Henri Pinault, il CEO di Kering. Lui controlla Mc Queen, Balenciaga, Gucci, Bottega Veneta e molti altri. Potresti avere tutto fatto su misura, ma invece hai scelto questo orribile Mc Queen del 2013. Vabbè.

Georgina Chapman - Marchesa

I never really liked Marchesa. I find it extremely tacky. But, come on, evil takes human form in this dress (yass, I'm quoting Regina George). Georgina Chapman wearing one of her creations disasters is definetely too much for me.

Non mi è mai piaciuto Marchesa. Lo trovo estremamente di cattivo gusto. Ma, davvero, questa è  l'incarnazione del male. Georgina Chapman che indossa una delle sue creazioni mostruosità è decisamente troppo per me.

So close Georgina, so close. Maybe too close.

Così vicina Georgina, così vicina. Forse troppo vicina.

There were many many outfits which were way more disgusting. But I simply refuse to talk about them. Ci sono stati outfit molto più disgustosi di questi. Ma mi rifiuto di parlarne. 

Since everyone looked so confused on the red carpet, I decided to offer you my suggestion (take notes, losers). Visto che tutti sembravano così confusi, ho deciso di offrire un mio suggerimento (prendete appunti, perdenti)

A grey blue Versace silk gown, a Bottega Veneta intreccio clutch, Giuseppe Zanotti Design suede sandals, Stephen Webster necklace, de Grisogono ring.

Ora, le foto sono finite, e così è il vino che continuavo a sorseggiare mentre scrivevo questo articolo.

Ma c'è un'ultima cosa di cui vorrei brevemente scrivere. Come molti di voi probabilmente sapranno, a molte signore non è stato permesso di accedere alla presentazione di Carol, durante il festival di Cannes, perchè non indossavano tacchi alti. Immagino che certi eventi abbiano un dress code, ma penso che tutta la situazione sia stata ridicola: sia perchè le donne di cui parliamo non sono esattamente giovani, e anche perchè tutto ciò è accaduto proprio prima della presentazione di un film con sfumature femministe.

Vergognoso.

Now, the pictures are over, and so is the wine I kept on sipping while writing this article. 

But there is one last thing I want to shortly write about. As many of you probably know, many women were not allowed to the screening of Carol during the Cannes Festival, because they weren't wearing high heels. I imagine that certain events have a dress code, but I think that the whole situation was really ridiculous: both because the women we are talking about weren't exacly young, and also because the whole thing happened right before the screening of a femminist-oriented film

Shameful.
